Hello All, Take note of the very misleading feedback about eating The Black Forest Cake here, this is the lowest quality cake I ever eat in Germany,dear Hotel, please maintenance your minimum standard,this is so shameful!Look at your so called Black Forest Cake OMG,where is the Cherry? Even your other cake is miserable....

No elevator so I have to pack my PJ toothbrush clean clothes in a plastic bag from the trunk of my car because I can’t drag my suitcase up god knows how many flight of stairs. The younger host pretty rude. It’s not language barrier thing. She just genuinely rolled her eyes whenever I’m in her sight- I can’t sit in a stool while waiting for host to serve me, she chased me out of the restaurant area when I try to get wifi information from the host (weird the host is doing everything, check me in and out, and serve food at restaurant while the younger one was doing absolutely nothing), and nearly slammed the door to my face when I asked her if there is an elevator . How could someone be so rude is beyond my understanding.

Zero stars! Actually, I can't judge much, I wanted to sit down at a table with my son and was assigned. Then I went to the toilet with my son, when I came back the table was gone and I was rudely "asked" to pay 2 euros for the toilet. Incredible...

Good hotel for exploring Triberg. A bit old on the outside, inside at least the classic double room with balcony was newly renovated. From the balcony, which is more like a roof terrace, you have a beautiful view. Free hotel parking spaces are limited.

Do not go here. Unfriendly staff and it took 30 mins to get our beers. There’s a bunch of other, good looking places, around the corner.

We were there for a weekend. The staff were very friendly and familiar. The price-performance ratio was okay. It was clean and the food was tasty.

Black Forest cake was a ready-made product, staff was only interested in filling out the address sheet completely with address and telephone number, even Abk was not allowed, allegedly the community here does not allow that ... Nonsense, I'll wait and see whether I will get advertising later

Nice location, however just by appearance. The food was carelessly arranged and tasted ... well, we wouldn't go there again. Expensive and you won't even get full from the portion. It didn't taste good. There was a mini blob of ketchup with the fries. The store is not recommended. The waitress didn't even ask if we liked it. Now it's clear why - they know the food is not good.

You think it would be a nice visit after the falls. Better go into town and look for something else. The male waitress was still nice, but the rest is not really customer-friendly. Depressed atmosphere, super bad toilets. While we were there, two other customers were simply sent away. No recommendation.

For the 2 time already I was disappointed with this restaurant ... The Black Forest cake has more of the taste of a frozen cake. I just hope not that all the tourists think it always tastes like that ... don't worry, there are really delicious just not here 😅. The service is simply the unfriendliness in person, but when I read the recession from others it is not just me. Love to go to the restaurant on the corner because you get to know good and delicious Black Forest cuisine.

We sat in the garden for some drinks and ate some pies. Quality of the food was good. However the service was very poor. We were treated very rudely and unfriendly by our waitress. Wouldn't recommend going here.

Have brought cake to take away. The plum cake was one of the best I've eaten. Cheesecake with tangerines was very good too.

Unfriendly service. She let us stand for ten minutes and then sat down at a table .... We haven't seen her since! Very rude ... and we are not the only ones who got up and left that day.

Not recommended, 70s atmosphere, staff apparently do not like guests. The food is boring, the schnitzel smells and tastes of burned breading.

We wanted to refresh ourselves a bit with cool drinks after the waterfalls. Due to corona rules, one should wait at the entrances, which is not a problem in itself. But if you stand there for 20 minutes, hear two times 'a minute' and 'little moment', that's not okay. Operation looked very stressed and unfortunately also unfriendly. Maybe you should take reviews to heart.

Very rude. We were driving through Triberg and stopped at this hotel for coffee. There was no English menu, even though it is a hotel! We asked for some water and the waitress seemed annoyed with our request and brought ONE glass of water that was slightly bigger than a shot glass (we were four people). Finally, when we asked to pay by card the waitress replied with a huge smile of satisfaction that they do not accept cards and proudly showed us the third page of the menu where it said (only in German of course) that they do not accept cards. In general, the waitress never offered to help translate and for some reason acted as if we annoyed her by being there. I am not sure exactly what offended her, maybe the fact the we were tourists and did not speak German?

Great time wonderful innkeepers! Pulled out all the stops even though we were the only guests during their off season!

We stayed here on our visit to Triberg Wasserfall and they have amazing rooms with great view. Also the bed was spacious enough and the bathrooms were clean. Definitely recommend this place for stay

The best place for the authentic German food and black forest cake. Cool atmosphere. Those who can't climb steep hill to see tje beauty of triberger water falls from this hotel it is just 6 minutes walk to enjoy the glory. Food bit pricey but worth it

Excellent Black Forrest Cake!

A 2-minute walk from the Triberger Wasserfälle with its fantastic hiking routes, this hotel offers an amazing view of the mountains. Parking is easy and free. With your stay you will receive a ticket with which you can go to the waterfalls and swimming pool for free, a nice surprise! Hotel Ketterer am Kurgarten consists of two buildings located on a sloping mountain road, which are connected by a large garden with a restaurant terrace. The main building houses the reception and restaurant, the other building consists entirely of hotel rooms. We stayed in the other building. It smelled a bit musty, as if you were visiting grandma and that's what the room looked like, but it was well furnished, the bathroom was small but functional and we slept wonderfully in the bed. The mattress was good, the pillows comfortable and the blanket nice and soft. I woke up rested! In our room there were many windows with which we had a beautiful view of the mountains. Also nice to air the room when the heat has subsided in the evening. There was a separate sitting area that you closed with curtains, which made the room nice and cozy and probably also keeps sunlight out. The restaurant had an extensive menu and the prices were fine. As a starter I took an onion soup, which I found very tasty. Then I had a Schnitzel with gravy and fries, and that was the best Schnitzel I had during our trip through Germany. Finally, staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke good English.

Despite many guests indicate that they experience the staff as unfriendly, we did not experience this. We are helped very friendly and professionally. They were very patient when we didn't understand German for a moment and they really made us feel welcome. The room was fine with great views. It is very dated, but everything worked fine. For me the pillows were too soft and unfortunately I woke up with a pain in my neck. After we were told at several restaurants that we were late (at 7 o'clock) we ended up at the hotel. Simple but very tasty! The breakfast was fine, coffee was very tasty. Finally, the location was ideal, we came to walk and we were in the perfect location for that.

Waitress was not friendly, she was ignoring us and gave weird looks.

Very old fashion style of housing. Small rooms, but quaint and lovely. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Lovely cute place to stay and eat.

We stopped in just to have some coffee and dessert. We were passing through town and stopped to go to the falls, but decided to come here first. The drinks were great, and so was the cake. They had 2 kinds of black forest cake, one looked like what we expected, the other they called "traditional". We all agreed that we loved the traditional more. Service was a little slow, but they were friendly. They had these little chocolates shaped like people with a euro coin stuck on its behind. We were so curious so we asked about it. The lady at the counter just said "Because it's funny!" And giggled. So then we laughed and went on our way.

we were visiting the falls yesterday we were more than supprise that the treatment we got from the hotel was substatialy ugly and un profesional we wated more tha 30 minutes !!! for a simple ice cream. they were not polite and we will never ever come back i stromgly readvice evrey person not to get near thi hotel one of the worse palces we ever visted the stuff was nusty and bad!!

Decent food but the service is quite bad. Especially at Lunch-Time, it's crowded and the staff cannon handle the load.
